West Beach textures, light waves and what lies above...

I have shot this beach many times but finally managed to arrive with wonderful light backlighting the action.
Boring for some, but I've always had an affinity for the endless supply of wave action here on the Salish Sea/Pacific Ocean.
It's a unique area, in that the energy from the Pacific Ocean is nearly untouched by land masses on its way to Whidbey Island.
The Strait of Juan De Fuca funnels wave energy through the gap between the Olympic Mountains of Washington State and Vancouver Island B.C. Canada.
Timing is everything as they say..... I hope you'll enjoy the textures of these beautiful waves as I've captured them.

I am always open to new and better ways to shoot these kinds of scenes if you have any pointers.

Great wave set. Looks like they would attract some surfers. Like the helo & eagle captures also.

Excellent water study, Rob! BTW if you need that CG chopper, my grandson might be operating the boom to lower the pick-up device or rescue diver.

They do attract them and here's a shot from April 10th when I didn't have the full sun to light up the water. Thanks for the compliments!
Same beach and nearly the same time of day!

Thank you so much, Chief!! I really love shooting and posting, as you can imagine.
That nasty four letter word (w@#$) gets in the way more now than before but there is a huge upside for my family in the future, with this commitment.
Glad you enjoyed these, I love the textures and light of waves, always have and I always will.
