Some posters don't realize that a more descriptive title makes it possible for others to search for topics they are interested in, or to decide to read the topic in the first place.

To "crack this case" required focusing on the user rather than on the device. I already had my familiar Nikon SLR on hand, but all that I knew about the OP is only what I could infer from his ingenious thread title. From there I put two and two plus the square root of his hat size together. Always read thread titles twice, first carefully, then thoughtfully. UHH thrives on those titles. Cherish them dearly !

Funny how the right answer can be found by clearing away the fog.

That thread title is the really huuuuge clue.
It told me most of what I needed to know.

Found one in the 300$ range that was not only waterproof but could take pictures under water. Specifications made this camera almost indestructible but I can't remember the brand. I do remember the camera was red if that helps. Specs say the camera is drop-proof crush-proof etc. Any help?

Olympus "Tough" series .... verrrry popular !

Now you lost me. The lever around the shutter button is to turn the camra on/off and to turn on the back light.

This is a matter of Situational Awareness. The situation is two fold:
•1• Youre in Hawgsterland.
•2• The thread is verrrry ingeniously titled.

On Nikon SLRs theres a picture of a light bulb ("bulb", get it ?!?) next to the words OFF and ON. Dealing with geniuses can be very tricky.

When you activate this "Bulb Mode" the light stays lit. You hafta intentionally extinguish it.

Thank you VERY much for taking the time for an in depth reply... At present I am on an economic diet but am planning for better times. I think it would be great value for the buck. Thanks again ...
Youre welcome. Most likely the longer you delay the less it will cost.
