I'm thinking a Nikon, but want one better than my Canon
SX160 is with 16x zoom. I'd prefer one with full frame whatever it's called. I know I can't afford a slr, but interchangeable lenses is a must. Thanks a lot.

Makes no sense. You can't afford an slr, but you want full frame. How much would you like to spend.

The Canon 6D is a nice full frame camera that takes interchangeable lenses. It's $1,699 without a lens.

Not sure if that qualifies as "budget" though.

So what do you really want and how much do you want to spend?

I'd recommend you look at a Sony DSC-HX300, and here are two reasons why:

Make sure you click on download and look at the full size. I don't think I've seen better from any camera.

Hi, trying to buy a new camera can be a head ache so i understand why your asking although this is a hard question to answer unless we know your budget ! now its already been mentioned that if you want inter changeable lenses then i think you will need a DSLR and a Dslr with a full frame ( 35mm ) sensor is going to be very costly, my advice is to ask yourself what you want it for then re post your question and say what your budget is and people here will be able to help you a lot more ! your current camera is just a point and shoot type and no disrespect its at the lower end, you could buy a really good modern point and shoot or bridge camera with amazing optical zoom they have today and be very happy with it if you choose right ! good look with your search

Based on the info you provided, I think the Nikon 1 system might just fill your needs, but its not "full frame", even though its sensor is a LOT larger than what you are using now.

You might also look at the Sony 3000. It looks quite nice.

A refurbished Nikon D5100 might be a good choice for you. You probably can find a refurb D3100 for even less but it is much less a camera for several reasons.

If Nikon look for Nikon refurbished ones. They can save you a lot and come in new condition. The only downside is that the warranty is only 90 days...but sellers like Adorama and B&H up it to a year for free or a nominal fee ($8).

As noted you probably don't want to consider an FX camera. Not only is the camera much more expensive but the lenses are also. The Sony 3000 is an APS-C sensors in light weight mirrorless configuration.

But still significantly smaller than the APS-C sensors in the Sony mirrorless designs.

There you go - it has that full frame thing in it, no slr, interchangeable.

Is that for only the camera body? What lenses will you buy and what is your budget for the lenses?

Full frame DLSR's are expensive as well as the Len's you need to put on them to get Quality photo's. My advice do your home work and save your money.
