with the new canon 7d mark2 you can right to both the cf card and the sd card at the same time. my question is if your cf card speed is 160 mb/sec and the sd card speed is 90 mb/sec does the camera right speed default both cards at the slower speed if so does anyone know where i can get a sd card with 160 mb/sec 64 mb.thanks for any help.

224, I'm no expert on SD cards, but I will say, with what you are currently using, you are already WAY over the speed of the 7ll. It's not gonna hurt anything, but if it helps its a small amount.
I dont know if they'll write at the lowest common denominator.
Go to " the Digital Picture" and read the section on Card speed. Though the camera won't write faster, it will shoot faster after the 33(?)shot buffer fills up.
Let us know what else you turn up as there are a LOT of 7ll users here. Thanks

Thanks sharp shoot I will look at digital pic and if I find anything usefull I will repost th again
Here is a link to the Sandisk website that lists a variety of cards that should work in the 7D Mark ii.
http://pct1.sandisk.com/ProductList.aspx?DeviceID=21673 I have seen some comments that the CF cards are far faster than the SD cards,
So when you use a SD card and a CF card in the other card slot it might slow your write speed.
