Hey, friends, does anyone have a printer recommendation for one that has performed well for you with both prints and printable CD's and DVD's? I'm a Mac user.

Hi,
Both Epson and Canon have printers that can accomplish both in an excellent manner. I have used an Epson printer with this feature for a number of years and it still works well. Check out Ebay or Amazon for printers with CD/DVD printing ability and take your choice. There are a few other printers out there that can do this including professional models, but my experience has been primarily with Epson.

Thanks, Grizzly, for your input. May I ask what model you use? Is it perhaps an Artisan? I heard of that one. Someone else (not on here) thinks highly of HP's.

Vicspics,

I have two printers that do printable discs . . .Primary is an older Epson model: Epson stylus Photo RX680 and a Canon Pro-100 series WS. The Epson is a bit easier to use. Epson puts out a series of printers with the disc print capability. The Epson's all have six ink cartridges and is more economical ink wise, plus do a creditable job of photo printing up to 8 X 10. The Canon Pro 100 is an 11X17 printer for larger prints.

I have an HP C5280 all-in-one that does a good job printing on discs. It has printed thousands. Look for online reviews.

You have lots of choices.

The two that are great and the price is good are Epson 1430 or the Canon 1000. It is probably the Epson for finding ink locally. On line they both are fast.

I have the Epson Artisan 800 and the 1430, I love the quality of both. I believe that the 1430 will do CD/DVD printing, but I generally use the 800 for that.

Yes, the Artisan 1430 does do CDs or DVDs. It is wide carriage, up to 13" x 19" print size if that is of interest. I've had excellent results with mine.

I had an Epson several years ago, no longer available it was the best, since Epson had done such a great job I replaced it with an Artisan 810, if all you are looking for it to do it is great, the software program is easy to use, however if you want it to print also it is terrible, I think the paper tray design is bad, it grabs several pieces of paper at a time, difficult to seat properly when inserting tray into the printer, makes an ungodly grinding noise - the company has replaced it THREE times and have the same problem. They may have other models that are better but not this one. I now have a Canon MG5420 and the quality of the print is good but the software is not as easy as Epson.

Thanks a lot for your input. You're the second person to mention the 1430 so I'm definitely going to check that out. :)

Ok, so now it's up to 3 that have mentioned the Artisan 1430. Thanks for your additional info on that. I appreciate it.
