Depends on the Camera format and version of PS. I still use the Nikon RAW editor. Photoshop took a few months to get there software up to that version of RAW.

Please, more info. What camera, and what version of Photoshop? I'm also interested (personal interest) have you upgraded to Windows 10? I just wonder if PS plays nice with it. My upgrade is "ready" but I have yet to pull the trigger.

When you install Windows 10, before you are finished and last reboot it will come up with a screen, Un-Check photos.

You will also need to go into the new Settings and set up the system Defaults. I have found that Windows has taken over most of the default/file association settings. Meaning when you go click on a photo it will want to open the Microsoft version.

Hat's off to you Bill, you provided the key clue. After doing some digging I discovered that my PS "plug in" for working Nikon Raw files is not compatible with the D3200. (Left over cobwebs from the aborted root canal yesterday had my mind clouded a bit. )

Now I can justify upgrading. 8-)

How is your overall experience so far with Windows 10? I have been leery but also realize I cannot stay on 7 forever.

I've down 5 machines. Two machines gave me problems with the anti virus. Blocking the install. I had to uninstall it to get it to go. So you'll want to write down license info along with any other !licenses.

Your machine will reboot several times. The third or fourth time it will ask what defauls you what. Besure to chose wisely or Microsoft will become the default. I.E. Ptcasa will no longer be or viewer. Meaning you will have to in and reset all your defaults and file association.

One machine the mouse lost it function so I rolled the driver back. Little things of that nature. But over all it was worth it.

I'm fairly comfortable with most aspects of "using" computers, but I tell you when I see all the stuff that some people who are comfortable working ON computers have to do when upgrading, it still makes me nervous.

It is times like this that I wish my daughter was still dating the computer guy.

The upgrade is pretty straight forward. For the most part it should go forward without any problems. It's just you will find a few hipcups. But the overall advantages are very out standing. Remember there taking programs (now called apps) from hundreds of programs and making them all flow into your printer's so to say.
