I had taken this shot 6/30/2012. My wife and I were staying at a friend's house of our niece in Napa Valley on a vacation. After battling a major ant infestation in the kitchen, I looked outside their back patio door, saw these clouds, and quickly grabbed my camera taking a shot.
I was fascinated by the cloud patterns and did some PP'ing in ACR & Photoshop, but was wondering what more could be done to make it perhaps a little more interesting and/or innovative. By the way, I quickly removed several power lines trying to clean it up a little.
Please feel free to have a go at it and see what your creative juices might produce, making it more interesting, pleasing, exciting, or whatever! What do you really think of this photo? Any and all suggestions are welcome and encouraged. Thanks.
Best Regards,
Tom
Lovely light and nice capture of lenticular clouds!
Are you saving in srgb color space with ICC (I forget what that is :) ) included?
Neglecting those will result in the big change of color and brightness we see between thumbnail and download.
I did a tiny trim. The rest of the pp looks a bit harsh to my non-expert eyes. If you have an original, folks could better address the details.

I love those clouds! And I agree with Linda's crop: the foreground houses are a distraction.

Linda,
No, I saved it in Adobe RGB. For some reason, the PP'd image didn't seem as 'smooth' as they usually do when I post process images. I'm not really sure why that is the case for this particular image. I did take out all the utility lines quite quickly, and there were a lot of them. Also, the clouds seem to be wispy, blurred to a degree, not sharp - perhaps due to the earth's rotation - Hmmm? It was not a long exposure, so that is kind of a mystery to me as well. I will try to get a link to an original and post it on here in a little while. I am not at the correct computer right now, plus my wife is feeling ill and I may have to take her to Urgent Care since our family physician does not have any openings!
I don't have the ICC, per say, but the metadata should be available. Just try using an Exif tool/program. You should also be able to go into Photoshop under the file header at the top of the window and then go down to file info towards the bottom of the drop down menu and get some data.
Thanks Linda,
Tom
P.S. Oh, the crop is great and the image is much improved without all that other garbage . . . Thank you.

Hey Chuck - those clouds immediately caught my attention, so I had to grab my camera and try to capture them before disappearing. I took about 5-6 shots, and one has an elongated cloud in it as well. Thanks, Chuck. I'm on my phone right now, or I'd try uploading it. Not sure if I am allowed to upload more than one photo or not in FYC?

You can keep adding, no need to make a new thread unless you want to. We often add for various reasons. It sometimes makes more sense to keep it in one thread. Pretty flexible here.
Those are amazing clouds. I've always yearned to find lenticular clouds but no such luck. Beautiful color too.
