Tom Brady, superstar quarterback of the New England Patriots has lost round 2 on his appeal on the Deflategate issue. The New England Patriots lost to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game early this year. This may be a setback for the Patriots team. The NFL won this one.

Frankly, I think it's a vindictive act.

I agree with the NFL side on this one.

But setback? I'm a Denver Bronco fan, but I fear this might help drive the Patriots to the Super Bowl this year. Brady will have 4 less games of getting hit and a stronger determination to win.

Jerry (still waiting to see which QB imposter will end up leading my Broncos this year)

I'm with you. I do not care for football, however, from what I understand, the referees handle the ball before it goes into play. So, if that is the case, why wouldn't the referee have noted a difference in the hardness of the ball? And, if the ref didn't, and the ball went into play, what is the problem other than sour grapes and poor losers?

What exactly was Brady found guilty of and was the penalty appropriate?

I am a huge Patriots fan. Being from new england (New Hampshire) been a fan since the early 70's. To me it doesn't matter what team or sport you are a fan of. When you have been on top for so long everyone starts looking to find dirt on the team or the superstar. I understand that that they should be held to a higher standard but make sure you have positive 100% proof of wrong doing. The game against the colts became out of reach after the first snap. The Patriots have dominant over the colts since Peyton manning left. They were looking for dirt. Other quarterbacks in the NFL like there balls scuffed up for grip. If this is the case I feel the nfl should handle the game balls them selves. The teams should turn the balls over the day before the game never to see them again until the game. Just my opinion. I think the NFL has bigger things to deal with than under inflated footballs. Why did it take so long for the NFL to deal with Greg Hardy (domestic violence)? :?

The courts should have never got involved in this. Brady works for a private corporation, which is a member in another private corporation, that corporation has rules which they deemed he violated. Brady agreed to the terms of their employment, which includes following their rules, when he signed on to their employ. They suspended him AFTER they conducted their investigation and hearing his side of the story. Should have been a done deal then and there, he served his suspension and we wouldn't even be talking about it now, he chose to challenge it and drag the whole thing out. So in my mind, he put himself in a bad position, and then just made it worse.

The courts should have never got involved in this.... (show quote)

We should be able to get rid of the state and national labor boards then. The employers are capable of making decisions and handing out any penalty they deem prudent. Maybe there should have been a hearing like Roger Clemens had.....

The decision had nothing to do with football, but rather the rights of the League to met out punishment for violations of it's "agreed upon" rules.

Oh,well......has nothing to do with the benefit of anyone, including the fans. Well, maybe to the benefit of those who don't have to play against Brady.

Exactly! It's really about the king (oops! Commissioner) exerting his total power and dominance.

According to ESPN Sports Network, Tom Brady could miss football games against the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, and Buffalo Bills. His eligible game 5 is the Cleveland Browns.

I have one thought and that is if you cheat you should be penalized and forfeit any time of winnings, game / money / etc.
He had to know the ball wasn't right and ignored it.
Just my opinion
