I don't want to mention a truck coming today so I will not. I have been using my Panny for a few years and think it is a very good bridge camera. With a F/2.8 through the entire zoom I found that it gave me many great photo's. The shutter count is only 4181 so I do not use it as much as many here. Purchased a lot of extra's which kept me from rushing into getting another camera. At my age (70) both my wife and I have seen a friends pass away without enjoying what they worked so hard for over the years. She has seen me looking at this camera every time we went to Costco. Finally she said would you please buy the Camera. The last trip to Costco they no longer had the camera. Now the research began as to where to purchase it from.
Final outcome:
Nikon D5500 body from Adorama (bundle included)
Nikon 35mm F/1.8 AF-S DX lens from Adorama (bundle included)
Tamron 16-300mm 3Di ll VC PZD Macro lens (bundle included) from Amazon
Today I have started to learn the way this camera operates. Another small journey begins. (reading the manual, You tube. and out the door to enjoy my new toy with my camera club).
Now what to do with my Panasonic with the extras I have purchased the last two years?
Also thank to all on UHH for their help.
Thanks,
Ron
The Panasonic FZ200 is a very good bridge camera. And the Nikon D5500 is a very good DSLR camera. I would recommend the 18-140mm or FX 28-300mm lens for that camera. I would keep the Panny for a backup camera. Good luck.

I did get the Tamron 16-300 mm lens. Looks good so far and has some good write up for this type of lens.

Thanks for not mentioning the truck.
I have had both these cameras, you will love the Nikon !! It's a great size and will feel lightning fast compared to the FZ200, and my D5500 had much better IQ. You will have fun - Congrats

Thanks. This is a step up (or two) from my Panasonic. Now to get use to it.
