SONY RX10 III

Took the SONY RX10 III with me to the Grand Canyon just to see how it would work, and compare to my SONY A77.
After the first shot, every thing on auto, noticed what looked like a hole in the far wall. See pic attached.
So used the zoom from same spot to view the hole. see second pic.
Looks almost like it was a mining hole until they ran in to the block looking back of the hole.
Not as good as my A77 but great for traveling light.
Didn't help that these are just free hand , and the wind was blowing hard

No photos attached. Disregard. They just took awhile to load.

Might it have been dug back in Prohibition Days. If you can get behind the block you might find some great aged booze.

Clearly demonstrates the amazing reach of the camera (I had to search long and hard to see the hole in #1!!) I own the camera, but have found, for just general use, my RX10 version I is sharper, constant aperture, and smaller. But it wouldn't come close to uncovering the distant details you have demonstrated.

I've always considered the Sony RX10iii Bridge Camera as the best today. I don't know how it compares to the version one. But I would own the RX10iii if I could muster up the funds to buy one. I own a Nikon Coolpix L840 which has a focal reach to 855mm. However, it has no viewfinder, and the fixed lens glass is not Zeiss. Those are some nice shots of the Grand Canyon you took. Especially in download.

Well, a lot of how good the RX10M3 does is in the hands of the operator his/her ability to use it then process those images to the fullest. I love mine and have found it produces superb images. One more things I love about it...no moving parts aside from the lens, so it is quiet. I hated my A55 because of the crappy plastic translucent mirror over the sensor. Anyway, wish you the best with your RX10.

I have both cameras...(RX10 and also III). There is no question that between 24-200mm the first version is superior in image quality. My reason for having III is for the 600mm reach, but I hardly ever use it. I will sell it when the 100-400 Sony FE lens is available.
