i thought this colorful little critter was a pest,
but it is a ladybug larva and it's eating aphids.
i saw it at the county senior garden the other day.

My first baby ladybug. Well done.
And here I thought they sprung fully formed and armed from the forehead of Zeus! Live and learn...
Nice one, MT!

you're welcome, angela...first one i ever saw, too. the ladybugs goes through the egg, larvae, pupa, and adult stages.
it takes about a week for the little yellow colored eggs to hatch, then it remains in the larva stage for about 3 weeks, then it pupates and
becomes an adult. the boys are called ladies too...lol.
i'm glad you found it interesting, ron. i thought it was a hungry caterpillar about to eat the flower up...lol.
thank you for viewing and commenting...i appreciate it!
