Nice shots of the demo. Not sure why the demo, that bridge would have fallen down on its own in a year or two!

A little history of the name that is apparently disappearing:
"The term “Tappan Zee” is the history of this area. It gives insight to the civilization that existed before us: The native people known as the Tappan and the early Dutch settlers’ word Zee referring to is vast area of the Hudson River. This is also one of the widest spans of the Hudson, making it difficult to cross. When the steel cantilever bridge was in place, it held onto this traditional name, Tappan Zee; when the former governor who was to hold the honor of having a bridge named after him, it was renamed “Governor Malcolm Wilson Tappan Zee Bridge.”
I guess the Mario Cuomo fans are not much interested in history.
