New Moderator

For a number of years now R.G. Frank and myself have been moderating this section. Having three moderators really helped us out because we could bounce ideas off each other before implementing them. Frank, it seems, has become much less active in the section in the last year or so. Recently a discussion centered around offering Jim-Pops the position of moderator. Mainly R.G. and I decided that he would be a good choice because I need some help with the MIYV challenge each week. It is pretty big chore to post the edits , and keep track of the voting each week. Jim-Pops will be taking over that job from me starting next week. I will still be around and still be a moderator. Then, when Jim-Pops needs a break, I can go back to running the challenge for a while, or R.G. can jump in and give us a break. So, for you the members, nothing is going to change. The section will continue to run as it has; but there will be a new face behind the scenes.

You will have noticed that I did not post an October "The master in You" topic. I think that was a pretty good idea and I'm glad that we experimented with it; but, as it was, it seemed a bit ponderous. With just one thread Going many directions it was hard to tell who was commenting on what. We can resume that in November if the members want it back, or we can try something new. If you have any ideas, please PM those ideas to one of the moderators. Thank you for your continued support of FYC.

That is very much appreciated. One of the advantages of having three moderators is that the chores are distributed evenly and it never becomes overwhelming for just one person to handle.

It's something I enjoy viewing, and I did enter once, by mistake. So glad I didn't 'win'.

Thanks.

Thank Erich for all your hard work, not only for the challenge but for your co-moderating FYC. It’s like having a part time job. So a bit of a break is well deserved.

Thank you all for the work you do. This is a most enjoyable section, and I do enjoy it. I did find the "master" posts confusing. I really enjoy the differing opinions that get voiced here - with respect!

There won't be any change to the challenge. You are certainly welcome to enter any time you want.

I'll still be moderating, and it is a pleasure to be a part of FYC. Thanks.

Not in FYC. I think the members in this section are really good and very appreciative.
