Anyone have long panos printed,...

How did they turn out, and where did you have them done?
I went to SFO over spring break to see my grand niece and took a few tours of the area. I got only ONE decent pic of the Golden Gate Bridge and I's like to get it printed, but if I used my printer, the best I'd be able to do would be 18x4". Googling, I closest match I found was that M-pix has a 5x30 paper print available (don't think it's available in metal), but I didn't check the price and I've never used them before. Opinions/suggestions?

Are willing to pay $15 a square foot plus shipping for your print. If you want it on canvas it's $25 a square foot. I have Canon iPF-8400.
If you want to talk about it call me.

M-Pix has always done a very good job for me. Give them a call about size and shipping, etc.
Most of the larger print shops have roll paper printers that print up to 42" by 100'. The paper types are more limited than for sheet paper though.
I have one pano that I printed as six adjacent 30" by 42" prints, displayed next to one another on two walls (90º corner), to excellent effect and more easily handled than a single 13' wide print.

I had an idea that M-pix said might work. If I could figure out a way to split the pic in 3 pieces and order them separately they could be hung in series...like three 10x20 prints on foam board. I guess that's called a triptich? I don't know how to do it in PSE 23

That's a bit much for me, I think :) Sounds cool, though. You must live in a mansion!
I've used Adorama Pix (Printique) and made 3 on metal and put side by side. The photo is split there when you order.

In order to make a 3 section print, divide the photo into 3 equal sections each 5" tall by 7.8" wide and have each one printed separately.
I once had a pano made from 32 portrait shots printed, by a firm in London.
I got it done in two heights one about 5" high which ended up around 7' long. Displaying it is a bit awkward but bearable.
The other was to the full height they could manage, I've never been able to mount this usefully (over 15' long IIRC).
I believe if you would upload the image to Fine Art America, you could have it printed there. They will print to the size of the image instead of your having to make the image fit a certain size.
Mpix has always produced excellent prints for me.

Check with a local sign shop, see if they can help you. 'My' former sign shop could print about 46" wide by as tall as your images needed, 46" tall by as long as your image needed, or any variation in between - depending on the depth of your pockets, of course. We had a few choices of media, too. Good luck!

I have used Artmill in Chicago several times. Their quality is outstanding and their turnaround is excellent. I recently had an 11" X 41" ready-to-hang print of a nighttime NYC pano done and I was very happy with the quality.

Neat pic. I've never been to NYC, but would like to go.
