I finally got a bit of detail on M81. M82 didn't come out like I wanted. 630 sec.

Thank You. All of these were done in one night, so I wasn't able to get as much data as I would like on each object. I was making the most of one focus position and camera orientation, ISO, and 30 sec exposures to capture all the lights and calibration frames. Tedious process, and I was up until 3:30am and woke up to the worst migraine I've had in years.

Well, I'm not going to presume anything, so I have to ask, were the results worth the head ache?

Nice capture of one of my favorite pairs of galaxies.

I've never got much detail in M81, but now I know with more data it should improve. I didn't think M82 looked very well.

M82 needs Ha to really bring out the center otherwise it just looks like an elongated sliver of light (this is why it's called the cigar galaxy).

I had the wrong filter in. It was the IDAS LPS P1.
I wanted to try the IDAS NBZII a dual band filter that transfers OIII and H-alpha emmission lines - band width 8nm at OIII & 10nm at H-alpha (+/-0.4nm) respectively.
