I wasn't happy with the tree on the far right and cropped it out. Does this make for a stronger composition?

Seems to have a bit more depth with the tree.

Both have merit. I think I like it with the tree a little better.

I thought the tree was a distraction but it's interesting to see other opinions.

The tree isn't taking anything away from the original. In fact it adds to the scene so it's a worthy addition.

Sue, I like the tree within the picture. I cannot explain it but it adds something to the scenery. I bet this could be even more beautiful during the fall.

Haa!! So it looks like I'm in the minority on this one! Brush Creek is beautiful in the fall - I've taken many pictures down there.

It does seem to be a bit of a distraction. Maybe a compromise, cutout the greenery to the right and some of the trunk would work.

Beautiful, Sue. I think that the tree makes it a landscape shot and without it you have a river shot.

Lovely scene. I think I like the one with the tree a little more. Seems to give it depth.

Thank you Sue for posting a very pretty photograph. I would love to drop a fly on that water just to see what might be lurking underneath to eat it. But even if there were no fish present it is a beautiful sight to see and enjoy the beauty.
