Any tips on shooting indoor basketball games with the Nikon D5100? Any tips would be helpful.

Hello Michelle and welcome to the UHH. I also use the D5100 and heres what I used for an indoor youth wrestling tournament.
manual exposure/focus
60mm lens set at F2.8 ISO 1250 1/250s

Have the same camera and use it to take pics of my grand daughter playing basketball.
I use a similar 60mm f2.8 lens but use shutter priority and a speed of 1/500th sec to arrest motion and increase the ISO to 2000

Read the manual over and over again,experiment with your camera and try all the settings cos that is the best way to learn. I have the same camera and it's a great one for me. Hope you will like the same.
