That’s a beautiful landscape, Joe. In a way, it reminds me of Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. I need to go to West Virginia photograph. I have only passed through the edge of the state.

Thanks, John. The new Park is beautiful and much less crowded than Great Smokey but it could still be slow with Covid on travelers minds.

Nice shot! It’s a great location for sunrises, too, although pretty chilly many times. BTW, it’s “Grandview,” so named for the grand view of the river there. Come back again sometime! Gorgeous in Autumn.

Thanks for the correction, Skip; I only saw Grandview spelled out on fifty signs. You’re right about the weather it was 37f. at daybreak and jacket weather most of the day.

Skip is right although some sunrises see the gorge filled-to-the-top with cotton-like clouds, especially in the fall. But the trees are absolutely beautiful. This is a really nice shot, Joe.

Thanks. I can just imagine how beautiful it is in the fall.

Nice photo. Think there is a scenic rail ride going on there?

Thanks. No, someone pointed out that in the top left of the peninsula, there is a railway maintenance yard. There were no scenic rail trips advertised but it could be a summertime thing.

A very fine capture of one of the premier fun locales for white water rafting.

Yes, Ray, there were a number of rafting and kayaking business adverts.

A very scenic view. Having lived in western Pennsylvania, I am familiar with this part of West Virginia which is a very pretty state.

When I think of PA and MD, I always picture the eastern areas which are similar to NJ, i.e. relatively flat. The western portions of both that touch WV are all rolling hills and beautiful. Who knew?😊

Thanks, JR. It took a little less than 5 hours to there from here; less than half the time of driving to Great Smoky.

Thanks very much, Sylvia. I know I sound like a broken record, a dramatic/interesting cloudy sky really elevates a landscape. (I said it again)😊
