Does anyone out there in UHH Land still use an optical drive? I have an Apple drive, as new available. Also a bunch of brand new blank dvd’s and cd’s. Any interest, drop me a line.

It's called a Superdrive and yes people still use them on occasion. It plays music cd's, DVD's and is capable of read/writing. I think mine cost about $80.00 when I got it about 7 years ago. Good luck.

I use one of these to rip audio CD's and DVD's to store on my computer and music server. I prefer to purchase the CD's and DVD's instead of downloading or streaming sometimes since I have had instances of things i bought online to watch streaming disappear when change of some sort happens online. So I would keep it. It will also work on a pc I think....

I just ordered one to rip Blu-Rays. The DVD player in my new Dell XPS desktop won't play Blu-Rays. I rip DVDs and put the movies on flash drives to play on my TV.

Using an optical drive is the only way I can access CDs and DVDs. I can't understand why computer companies are cutting down on their use. I bought a Dell desktop that won't let me install an optical drive. I would have had to order one with a drive.

Given the current trend, it might be a good idea to buy optical drives, VHS players, CD players, and DVD players. Streaming everything just isn't possible, and it often comes with a price tag.

When I retire a computer into the garage, I remove the parts and put them all into one big box. I realize it would have been a lot simpler to keep them assembled and get the parts when I need them. This way, though, if I need a fan or a heat sink, it's in the box.

I use a 2TB unit to store photos and videos I make and after I put them on Blu-Ray DVD I have a backup in case the DVD get lost or damaged I can always make another one.

I believe you can edit the title to indicate *** SOLD ***.
