I like version 11 alot. I can't see enough new features to upgrade to 12.

If done have a photo editor, version 12 would be a good choice. If you have version 10 or older, I think an upgrade would make sense.

I know I've seen a couple of other threads on here about it and a there are a few members here who have it. Try using the search feature and you may be able to find those threads. I've been thinking about upgrading to it from Elements 8.

Tea8,

I'm currently using 11 and like it quite a bit but I'm not sure that there is much advantage in going to 12. It sounds, however, that you might be ready for the upgrade.

I would say wait then if you are on 11. The other thread I remember reading someone said that there wasn't much that was new and it wasn't worth it to upgrade from 11.

If you have PSE 10 or an earlier version, I can see upgrading to PSE 12 but not if you have PSE 11. There are not too many changes and/or new features in PSE 12. Adobe had already done a major overhaul with PSE 11. I would have passed on PSE 12 except for the fact that I didn't have to pay for it and then I will be teaching it in a few months.

Version 10 is most like version 9, with very few improvements over version 9. Version 11, however, had totally new interface and is more user friendly. Version 12, like version 10, has very few additional improvements, as you mentioned. I have and enjoy version 11 and have no intention of upgrading to Version 12. Some places like Costco will sell the new Version 12 for around $49 at Christmas. For those that are Costco members and don't have the current version of Elements, I would recommend waiting 'til then picking it up there when its on sale.

I keep plodding along upgrading every other version. Just ordered Elements 12 and Lightroom 5 upgrading from 10 and 3 respectively. Haven't had a chance to use either as they were shipped just yesterday!

I went from 8 to 11 and like the differences. Don't know about 12 and I don't know how much you use it, but I think you'd see the difference.

Maybe I should have started a new thread for this, but here goes anyway. I recently got Lightroom 5 and I can't see anything it will do that you can't do in Elements 11. Am I missing something?

Yes! In many things it is not what it does, but how, or how conveniently, it does it.

If you do your editing by using layers then lightroom is not for you

Hi. Tempted to buy Elements 12 but, hey, just getting to grips with Elements 11 and enjoying the experience. Adobe are bringing out programmes too quickly. Phil photog

Thanks you for the advice. I think I'll wait for 13 or 14.
