Took the time to read this. I can only qualify it as 'garbage'

The reality come from congress trying to protect their own fiefdom and refuse to close bases that are misused, not needed or simply abandoned but with a whole security apparatus to prevent trespassing... ON WHAT?. Congress also has 'pet projects' that the military do not want and that cost billions of $$$

Also, you may want to read this that is way more troubling:
http://www.reuters.com/investigates/pentagon/#article/part1

As to the accusation of Obama wanting to gut the military... Sequester is congress made, oversight of the military is congress responsibility, policies influencing the military, including being at war is congress power so... Obama?

This site is just another rag when it comes to this article, at the very least.

After further (and very short research on the web site I found this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WorldNetDaily

Right then and there I lost all interest. This site is not even a rag but a cesspool.

His idea? Yes. His decision? No.

No one at the time ever thought that it would come to that level of stupidity. It did.

Does this make Obama responsible?
Not his decision (even if signed it onto law, Congress had to agree) but shared responsibility.
Stupidity? Just look at congress!

His idea, he pushed for it, and he signed it into law. He could have vetoed it, but he didn't. It's too late for him to disown it now.

You want to play on words? Go right ahead. Congress had to agree with it. They did, as mentioned: shared responsibility.

Remember that a president alone cannot make any laws. He can push some items (other than laws) through his presidential orders but these are limited in scope.

It does not matter if you and your friend have a bad idea if you jump off a bridge you are both guilty of stupidity. The follower even more so than the initiator as he/she has a different perspective that should show how bad the idea really is.

I find funny that you get stuck on that small part but do not raise the other issues...

Then again, I am not because it is a common occurrence to drown the real issue(s) at stake. 'Go for the detail and divert the attention'.

You miss the point. Elegantly, but still a miss.

Never-mind, there is nothing worse than a man who wants to be blind (or obtuse)

Good bye.

So, what's new? This reads much like what took place after WWl. During the roaring 20's and into the 30's our wonderful congress and president cut our military so deep, we didn't have an effective army or navy. We just can't seem to learn from history!
