Subsitute for iDVD?

I recently to my dismay upgraded my mac to the Yosemite operating system. I always hesitate to upgrade because inevitably something goes haywire and I'm not "techie" enough to figure it out. This latest upgrade has ruined my iDVD program. I am a travel agent and usually accompany my groups on tours. I have become the unofficial photographer and put together slide show dvds of the trip for all my clients. After the upgrade everything works the same but when you view the photos the colors are completely distorted. I understand that Apple no longer supports the iDVD program but why do they have to make it unusable when they upgrade?(sorry, had to whine a little!). I have called Apple and the tech was nice but could really offer no help. Anyway, I thought that there are probably many of you Hoggers out there that still burn DVDs for clients and know of another program that is as easy to work with as iDVD had been. Thanks!

Their are quite a few alternitives, go to the ap store and type in DVD creator, and you will find quite a few programs, to convert your movie files to DVD......I use a Apple Super Drive, on both my Macbook Pro and my MacBook Air....and all my DVD's come out teriffic..

Have you tried the Apple Forum to see if there may be a solution there?

For future reference, it is strongly recommended that before installing a major upgrade a full backup be performed. A bootable clone is ideal. Then if you have problems you can always revert or simply boot from the clone and work there until you get the problems resolved.

Downgrade the OS to 10.95. Yosemite still has too many faults.

I have a program named Toast, but I am not up to Yosemite. I like Lion.

Unlike HawaiianEye, I have been using Yosemite since day 1 and I haven't encountered any problems.

Also Lion is where they broke the dual screen interface, which was never corrected in Lion. IMHO Lion was Apples "Vista".

You could work with iDVD still, in disk utility go to partitioning and split your hard drive and put on your earlier osx on the 2nd partition.

it does mean having two home folders on the system but you have full access to both. You might even consider a 3 partition setup where the third partition is for data. There is a handy program called refind which sets up a boot menu on startup which lets you select easily which os you want to run i use it for selecting between osx windows and linux it defaults to the last used partition.
If you plugin another bootable drive it will add that option to the menu.
