I don't see or hear any more about the Nikon SB600 Flash. Is it still used or what?

W, I have one and still use it. That along with 2 SB-800s. The 600 does nicely gridded or snooted when combined with the 800s.

I keep my SB-600 as a back-up to my Nissin Di866.
The SB-700 is the designated replacement for the SB-600, which is no longer produced.
Still a decent speedlight.

I have two SB-600s. Use them quite regularly. Use for fill light outdoors even in sunlight to reduce shadows and/or stop motion. Use them wireless (Commander mode with a D80 and D7100) for events and portraits. For portraits, I shoot them into 32 inch silver lined umbrellas. I use one camera mounted for miscellaneous photos. I have no idea how many thousand flashes they have endured. I generally get 200 to 300 flashes out of a set of batteries. I wouldn't trade the SB-600s for any third party flashes. They have never failed me. My 2 cents worth. Have a GREAT DAY!

I have 4 SB-600 and 1 SB-800. I use the commander in the body to trigger off the units.
Two of my SB-600 were bought used and at a great price.

I still use mine I believe it has been discontinued by Nikon. Amazon still has them. http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-SB-600-Speedlight-Digital-Cameras/dp/B0002EMY9Y%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAIUVELBN7TNE5MDVA%26tag%3Dmerstore-20%26linkCode%3Dsp1%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB0002EMY9Y

Download Nikon app (Manual Viewer 2) for your smart phone, then download ONLY the manuals for Nikon products you own. It is the entire book! So you can leave that home! They are searchable and bookmarkable, so you can always get to the thing you want to typically do. They are powerful units, and do a lot, but really, most people only require a few setups...
