Now that we know we can use the store/download function for almost any file type (, 20MB) this could be really useful, so long as it is used responsibly.

Bill-
Thanks so much for posting these links for the pdf NIK manuals. They downloaded in seconds and I have them all in a folder on my desktop. Really good of you to do this!

Have to keep an eye on this and see what other goodies are found. I just now learned of NIK and have elements 13 but haven't tried it yet.

Bill and Linda, thank you for your research and posting the download links. at my age, 72, I pray I have enough brain cells to learn all this. It will be fun to see. I am just now getting my feet wet with Elements 13, hopefully, these will help with the new workflow I have to learn.

Thank You to all for the wealth of information. I just ordered my 1st PP program (Elements) and am awaiting its arrival. I also downloaded the free Nik presets and haven't a clue but am excited about the endless possibilities. Thanks for the manuals! I will probably need a class or online tutorials on where to begin.

If you can afford the $25 for a few weeks at Lynda.com for Jan Kabilli's Photoshop Elements course, you will have a speedy learning experience. You may have free access through your local library.

Now that Google has announced that the Nik Collection is free, the GreyLearning online courses related to the Nik Collection free as well.
This bundle includes courses on the basics of using the Nik Collection, Viveza, Silver Efex Pro, and Analog Efex Pro.

Thought this would be a useful addition to this thread

I have just started watching the silver efex II course when lightroom offers to edit a copy it offers tiff (16 bit) the best if you have a raw file to convert, jpeg 8 bit of course and psd format unfortunately nik doesn't support loading PSD format. (I tried it)

I've gone through the Nik Silver Efex video's and they are clearly presented and gets into every function and setting of the plugin. At the end of it you will be familiar with what it can do and what does what.

It doesn't get into why you might want to choose to develop an image in a particular way. I am not sure why you would want to make todays photo look like a tired old 100 year old print. I think I still need to find some answers to why but how is very well covered in this course.

There is online help at the nik site in this thread are actual pdf manual files have a look at the first post in this thread for most of them.

I created a manual for Analog effex Pro (third post from the bottom on the first page of this thread). It's pretty much the same as the nik online help but tidied up to make a pdf document.

There are also links for custom presets for some nik modules and also a link to graylearning.com who have an online course teaching the nik collection, it also used to cost money but has now been made available free.

The Manuals and Presets are stored here on UHH which is quite unusual as most threads in links & resources just have links this one is a resource as well.
