Looking for Free Video Editing Software

I just had two short (10-minute total) movies put on DVD by Costco. The movies were originally shot in 1973 with a Super 8 movie camera. I would like to make a few minor edits, possibly insert some titles, and possibly add some voice-over, and then burn some new DVDs. Are there any free software programs that will do this?

Download Adobe 30 days trial.

Otherwise Microsoft expression is free.

My absolute favorite is Hit Film 4 Express. It is completely free, the website has many good tutorials, and besides the basic cutting/pasting of clips it can do all sorts of special effects. The only issue is that it is so complex the learning curve can be longer than many people would want to do for small edits. After reading the tutorials for severals hours I created my own clip turning a bbq lighter into a laser pistol and disintegrating a bird with it.

Does the Pentagon know about your invention? By the sound of it this would be a far more cost effective way of killing people with brown skin than drone strikes.
Let's hope Hillary doesn't get her hands on it.

Some good options already mentioned. You may want to also check out MS Movie Maker 2012. I have found that with video, using multiple programs on the same project often gets you closer to your vision than relying on a single program.

Hitfilm is a bit more advanced that most entry level editors. More of a compositing app, you can definitely cut video with it. If you're willing to learn, the Express version is a pretty amazing piece of software for free. You can also purchase upgrade add on packs.

If you are running a Windows platform Microsoft Movie Maker is FREE. Although not officially supported for Win 10, it can still be downloaded and seems to run fine.

You sound way to sick to attempt any kind of humor, political or otherwise.
You may want to stick to photography if you know anything about it.

Other than a 30 day trial I know of no free video editors. I use one from Scotland (I believe) that's very reasonable at about $40 and it does an excellent job. If you think you could learn to use an editor during that first 30-days then a trial may be the answer. I'm using
trakAxPC - and I believe they offer a 30-day if you're interested. Good luck.

I helped my son shoot a short video recently and he used Lightworks to put it together. It's free, though they do have a pro version with more features. He said that it was quite easy to learn and use.
