Your detail of the sun's surface is AMAZING!...yeah, I bet you'll be seeing some big time Aurora's!
Have you done any Aurora photography, to match up with your sunspot photography...
The you can say, "This huge sunspot produced these Aurora Borealis photos".
Kind of a "cause and effect" thing!
Keep em coming! 💪😎👍

As for a correlation between Auroras and solar activity, I don't know if there is much. Some of the best Auroras simply came out of nowhere and a lot of forecast Aurora activity falls flat on its face.

I shot two 1000 frame video sessions of Ol' Sol this afternoon with a QHY 715C astro-cam, Astro-Tech 65EDQ scope, Herschel Prism and Solar Continuum filter on an Evolution mount; one without a PowerMate and one with a 2.5x PowerMate.
Processed the videos in PIPP to select the best 15 frames from each video then manually selected the best of each.
This region is just jumping with CME's and magnetic decoupling. Keep an eye open for Auroras. These sunspots regions are already causing havoc with radio communications on Earth.
Open the Download for the full sized images. Earth has been added for size reference.
Enjoy!

Headline in today's paper -
"Kingston firefighters free two teens stuck in baby swings at Block Park"
"The post said firefighters were called to the park on Abeel Street for reports that two teenagers had got stuck in hard plastic baby-style swings intended only for small children."
The human brain doesn't mature until sometime in the 20's. Often a lot later!

With the past few days postings it appears this site needs to be re-named: "Guns and Ammo and BTW a Few Words About Photography".
How has this happened? Aren't the editors reviewing postings any longer?
For we photographers it is a waste of bandwidth.
Totally agree and all from someone in Idaho. About every 3rd or 4th post on the forum.

I read that calibrating a zoom lens is only good at the focal length where it was calibrated. Is that correct?
Go mirrorless and forget about calibration!

While getting my car inspected, I walked over to look at the horses. I don't know if they actually bite. I wasn't able to convince the little boy to try petting them.
Horses definitely bite! I helped an uncle of mine break Shetlands when I was a teenager. I still have the scars from horse bites 70 years later!

I want to take pictures of birds…and night sky. Will p&s be enough, or do I need multiple lenses?
I have the Sony RX10 IV and an A7R V with Sony's FE200-600 lens. Both have their place. The RX10 IV is my grab-n-go camera and a whole lot lighter than the A7R V combo. The A7R V combo can be handheld but a lot easier to use from a tripod.
Both of the above can produce some darn nice wildlife pictures. The RX10 IV is not a low light camera. I use the A7R V for low light and astrophotography on a regular basis and it excels at it.
