It's true that there's a lot money potentially involved. But I'd like to be a bit altruistic in this and think that people are considering the artistic implications as well. The sheer number of frames and negatives that are included with all the rolls of film will produce one would expect an incredible volume of images that should give us a wonderful view into the world of Chicago and elsewhere at the time.
You are at risk in one way or another regardless of where your information is stored, even in hard copy. Consider the risks, way the alternatives, make an informed decision based on your needs and resources. That's all you can do.
Some crazy combinations, and the editing of them seemed to be very seemless. The animals were blended so well you could hardly tell where one left off and the other started.
