Captured on my way home from work today. Pretty neat. It never gets old seeing bald eagles to me.

The buffleheads always seem to stay just a bit too far out for me to get anything good. Today they were just a bit closer. Here are shots of the male and female. If you're like me, you're always trying to capture something specific. With buffleheads, I always try to get them just as they arc up and go into the water. Never get it. Always just a click too late. Today I caught the female just as she went in. There's still a hole in the water that she came out of and the water is just splashing up around her head as she goes in. Close, so close.

Thanks all. You're far too kind. Appreciate your looking and commenting.

I like the differences in feather textures on the Gadwalls, plus they look cool flying.

Tough catch for me for some reason. Black I guess. A few from today turned out to be workable. The downloads are kind of cool.

Thanks. I don't know why they are so tough when there are so many of them, but they are.

Good catch on the black bird. I have been trying for one but he keeps getting mixed up in the cat tails and haven't been able to get a clean shot.
I like this one a lot. Nice job.

The YHBBs finally made it back this far north. They've been around a couple of days but this is the first capture for me this year. Noisy things. I like them.

Thanks to everyone for looking. I like the snow falling. These are the bulls that will be sporting huge racks this summer and fall. Can't wait to catch them then too!

I think you're right, a young one. It's the only species I can come up with that has the rusty breast and the eye bar without a white eye ring that catches bugs in the air. Thanks for your thoughts.

I think you are correct. Perhaps it is a youngster
I did see it catch a flying insect. I'm thinking a Say's Phoebe. What say you?

Captured at the edge of a pond in Colorado today. Little help?

Ok, I know the photo is bad, but I figured this group would forgive that for something interesting. Did you know that bluejays can do the street magician levitation trick? I didn't.
