I purchased a 40 mm (about $100.00) for fireworks, also a good normal lens. If I guessed wrong about distance from fireworks, I have a 18-55 Zoom alternate. Not as sharp.
I use ASA 100, F16, exposure 3 seconds on a firm tripod for my Rebel T3i.

On my way to a law degree, I was a tech writer. My old tech book says a smaller hole. So to drill a precisely located 1/2 inch, hole first drill a 1/16 hole.

I removed some of the vegetation, repainted the eye to remove blur, and did some cropping of the left and top.
