I have been retired for the past 27 years so every day is Saturday and I do not subscribe to CNN or MSNBC or any other American news outlet except Fox because it is included with the TV package I took. The reason I watch Boston Fox is because of the weather lady, she is a looker.

I watch FOX also watch FOX also.
But you should see our weather lady here on WWBT 12 in Richmond VA.
She is also a "LOOKER".

Living thousands of miles from Israel and learning the situation from radio and the internet, I’ve still formed some opinions.

First is that Hamas is pure evil and MUST BE ELIMINATED.

Second is that the subject of CEASE FIRE is stupid considering the slaughter of innocents.

Third is that Hamas has no intention of giving up hostages, therefore, UNFORTUNATELY, hostages will be k**led as Israel eliminates Hamas.

Forth, President Biden has made it difficult for Israel to win this war, because of politics in the USA.

----Because I have no first-hand knowledge of the situation in the Middle East, my opinions may be completely wrong.

Retirement for us has been revealing. We enjoy it now, but it took two years to convince my wife to join me at home... gee I guess I didn't see that coming. Now she loves it. We don't know how we had time in our life to work. lol I owe it to her financial planning. We are home bodies with a clan of dogs and Alexas. lol

Are you enjoying your retirement?

Damn right I am.
My wife for 58 years before retirement worked in Claims for a large insurance company.
Her knowledge of facts and figures is way beyond mine.
She takes care of all our financial decisions.
I'm in love with the best wife in the world.
At 85 now I have to step back and let her make our best decisions.
Retirement is having a good life.

Hello again

My main reason is that he knows your computer setup better than anyone and would be able to assist you better. Either he setup an option to move your data to your second drive or maybe it's not set up that way. I work on computers all day but it's better to know the setup. I could give options on what to do but that would change your setup if your computer already has something in place. Or it would be better to know your PC setup. Windows 10, Windows 11, etc.

Al

What my son, an IT, did for me is to put 2- 20TB drives in my Dell Tower and used "Raid" to make the 1st one copy to the second one instantly as I saved. He used what he called RAID to do this. So if one drive where to go bad all I had to do was to replace the bad one and the system would copy the old one to the other so I would be back in business.

I'm not an IT so I have depended on him for everything.

Yes I am. My wife was smarter than me at figuras. She put away funds from both of our paychecks and when we retired we got a financial advisor who takes care of our investments. Now after years of work we pay our bills as soon as they come in. My wife is way better than I could ever be at fianiacing.

It has to do with the number of phones & phone customers that the phone system can handle. A typical phone exchange can have 10,000 phone numbers - xxx-0000 to xxx-9999. There's a limit on how many phones can actually make a call at any one time. I think that number is 100. So, 100 people are talking, customer 101 won't even get a dial tone until some else ends their call. At some point the telco will add another exchange to keep their customers happy. I imagine newer telco systems can have more customers making calls at the same time. In theory, a 10 digit phone number allows for 9,999,999,999 different phone numbers. Many of those numbers aren't available, though. For example, in the US you can't have a 911 area code or exchange number. Same with 811, 411 and other similar numbers. I won't even go into adding a country code to this mix.

You are absolutely right....

Back in the 50's I was in the U.S Air Force and my job was to do the maintenance on Dial Telephone Central Office Equipment. I put my 4 years into it and after 4 years my hitch was up and I got out.
We even had Operator Switch Boards then. I really enjoyed the work.

With the past few days postings it appears this site needs to be re-named: "Guns and Ammo and BTW a Few Words About Photography".

How has this happened? Aren't the editors reviewing postings any longer?

For we photographers it is a waste of bandwidth.

THIS IS "THE ATTIC" NOT FOR PHOTOGRAPHY.

There are many professional photographers who manage to make a living creating perfectly exposed images which show no creativity or talent at all. On the other hand there are many amateur photographers enthusiastically making technically imperfect images full of feeling, creativity, and the sheer joy of photography. These two extreme types of photographers have their admirers and should be welcomed in the world photography. Those of us who fall somewhere between should accept both.

Eglin was my last assignment (3 years). I would have stayed forever, but that was not to be... I retired to avoid another short/unaccompanied assignment. The only reason I even made it 3 years was that I was on a controlled assignment there... had received orders twice during that 3 years but my organization reminded the assignments people of my controlled assignment date. I loved both the area and my job at Eglin. 9 of my 20 years was overseas.

When I was at Eglin I was in a Telephone Communications SQ. I and a buddy I had made there were called up to our Squadron Commander's office and we had made friends with the Major. He asked us how we felt about an overseas station. We both told him that we really liked Eglin and were happy there. The two of us stayed till we were finished with our commitment and were discharged. After that we were extended til some time later. That was the Cuban Missile crisis. Gosh we loved that Major. He would pick us up at the barracks and we would go into Fort Walton and Bowl all night.

20 years in the Air Force and they decided where I lived. After retiring, I knew I would not live anywhere with lots of snow

CONGRATULATIONS : I only was in for 4.3 years. I was stationed all that time just outside of Eglin AFB FL.
Never saw any snow.
