Well, I am not sure about the pictures being an adventure, but I certainly had a lot of fun being there and taking photographs. There are two national parks in the area with which many of you are familiar: Canyonlands and Arches.

One point in presenting these is to add to the discussion regarding whether M4/3 is a viable format for landscape photography. We are all acquainted with the many YouTube videos extolling the virtue of full-frame for landscapes. Then there are many asserting that M4/3 is good enough and the lightweight kit makes it sensible. You may draw your own conclusions. Keep in mind that I am not a professional. I simply enjoy the hobby.

I used an Olympus Em5 ii with the Panasonic 12-32mm f3.5-5.6 pancake lens for these photos.

1. The Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park.
2. The familiar Dead Horse Point on the Colorado River in Canyonlands NP.
3. The Colorado River just before entering the Canyonlands NP.
4. The second valley after entering Arches National Park ... The Three Gossips officiating.
5. The Double Arch in Arches NP.
6. A vista in Arches NP near the end of the road.

I had a Olympus 4/3 for quite a few years. Quality was always acceptable. The only issue I had was using in low light. My night photos and low light situations had a lot to be desired. I left, but still have the camera and lens, to Sony because of the news that there would be no more Olympus cameras-right or wrong.

Great shots.

I have just one small quibble and that is that Dead Horse Point is a Utah State Park and not part of Canyonlands. I camped in Dead Horse Point State Park twice on my visits to the Moab area. I seem to remember that it's about 30 miles from Moab proper.

I also had that pop in my head while reading the post .. Dead Horse is a mere 1500 ft from the NE edge of Canyon lands!

BUT regardless, those are all excellent captures, m43rebel...👍👍

We spent a month in our tiny Class C RV in Utah, hitting the Big 5 Natl Parks and MANY of the State parks... And the State parks are as good as the natl parks...
We covered the SE 1/3, south of I-70 and east of I-15...

As shown in M43Rebels GREAT photos, it's a landscape photographers dream... And if you're in the Milky Way, I got my best photos while boondocking on BLM land outside of Goblin State Park...

AGAIN, thank m43rebel for stirring up those memories.... Now I wanna go back... I'd spend a whole month exploring Canyonlands, Natural Bridges, Arches, Goblin area ... Capture a HUGE variety of landscapes.... LOVE UTAH! 🥰

Sorry about my misnomer regarding the Park names. I guess I did not pay much attention to the signs. Dementia must be setting in. I am in my 80s. I suppose that is why I like the EM5ii so much ... small, light, easy on my back.

Excellent set, Canyonlands BLM has 1500 miles of ATV trails we stayed 30 days their with our RV, we
only hit about a third of the trails. If in Moad I suggest either renting a ATV or take a guided tour
there's amazing landscape off the beaten path.

Love your images! I’m a big fan of Olympus/OM systems. For naysayers, to me, wide angle is more a function of lens selection than camera. As to performance in low light, again, look to lens selection. As to image quality, I’d defy them to put a full frame image against the same image from m4/3s — unless they’re on the side of a bus. End of rant!

Some very nice views. Looks like it was a fantastic trip. No experience with 4/3 therefore I have no opinion. But if one is going to talk sensor size for Landscapes, go MF-Light with the Fuji-GFX system. If your happy with your camera & photos, that is all that matters. For a while, & once in a while, I ponder the OM1-MKII for macro. Happy shooting.
