I have a D500 strongly considering up grading to a Z8 trading everything in

To make Photograph fun again and better focusing

My Delma is what lens

considering

prefer zoom lenes

the new 28-400 f4 -f8

Tamron 35-150 2-2.8, Camera store is strongly recommending

Or just get the adapter and keep some but then which ones

open to all recommendations

Currently have to many

My favorite lens is

Nikon 18-300 3.5    6.3
other lenses

Nikon 70-200      2.8

Nikon 105         2.8

Tamron 24-70      2.8

Sigma art 50-100   1.8

Tokina 11-16       2.8

Nikon 200- 500    5.6

What would you recommend, it would be an immense help

Thanks everyone for your time

This is waaaaay too simple. You do NOT have "too many" lenses. When you get a Z8 acoarst you would get rid of those three APSC lenses. The rest are all your keepers.

I don't have a 28-400 but it looks like it's a good fit for your preferences. Being a Z lens it should be good to excellent. A wide angle zoom would cover anything not covered by the 28-400.

My advice. Buy the Z8 with the adapter. Then, try all your lenses and see what you THEN like and don't like.

For what's it's worth here's my situation. I may be in the minority but I have one body a D850 and 4 lenses. All Tamron G2's. A 15-30 2.8, a24-70 2.8, a 70-200 2.8 and a 150-600 5! to 6.3. Some how I manage to get by. When I had a D7200 I only had 2 lenses a 18-200 and a150- 600.

I second this approach. Only you can decide what F mount lens will work for you on your new Z8.

New gear will NOT make Photoshop fun again! You need to look closer to home.

I absolutely like the following quote, "If Photoshop is the answer, you are asking the wrong question!" That being said, when I went mirrorless, from a d7100 and d850, I had two sets of lenses, older Nikkor manual focus primes from my film days and Nikkor 24-70 and 70-200 f/2.8s which I used on both the d7100 and d850. Got a deal I could not pass up from Nikon and took a Z8 to Alaska; the Z8 had maybe 100 shots on it before it went along with the d850. I chose to get the adapter and am very pleased with the images. I can still use all my lenses on both the d850 and Z8. Right now I have no ambition to upgrade to Z mount glass; at 100% for pixel peeping, the results speak for themselves and I have enlarged some of the Alaska trip pics to 40" wide. You have plenty of lenses, have fun with what you have on the Z8 before throwing more money at the situation.

My 28-400 is my new favorite lens. Only had it a week, but it focuses well and is sharp enough for anything I might print. With my D850 the 28-300 was my favorite lens.
