EagleTeam5 Wk 8... Turtles?

This morning's eagle photo session was pretty uneventful.... The only adult was perched quite a ways off and left shortly after we arrived.
And while I saw all three, I didn't capture 3 heals on one photo.
But there was some housekeeping going on. One of the eaglets was carrying around a remnant of a past meal.... A TURTLE SHELL... LOL... Moved it to the edge of the nest. Didn't see it toss it over the edge tho.

On the hike out, I encountered a killdeer and it's nest (a different posts in this forum) and some Red-eared Sliders, bubblebee and some unknown butterflies, and a VERY distant (heavily cropped) Lesser Yellowlegs!

So I'll call that a great morning excursion!

Research results:

Orange butterfly is a "Variegated Fritillary".... "Fritillary", what perfect name for a butterfly, don't ya think!!!
(Ok, FLITillary might be better!)

Yellow butterfly is a "Clouded Sulfur"

I'm telling ya, these days we have soooooo much information at our finger tips... LITERALLY!... Great time to be alive!

And thanks everyone for their posts!... I'm really enjoying these eagle nest hikes!
