I thought (wrongly obviously) that we were in a photography forum and not a xenophobic and insulting propaganda trash hole.

Sorry I took the wrong turn somewhere.

You may want to do an experiment before you before you add to this post. I recall a few years back there was an article on this subject and the writer took a photo which he had taken of a street scene with a telephoto lens. There were buildings along both sides of the street with buildings going up a hill stacked in the distance. It certainly looked like the buildings were compressed together. But then he took a shot with a wide angle lens and enlarged a section to show the exact scene as taken with the telephoto. The photos looked the same. So is compression real, or just a matter of the way we look at a photo.

Hello.

I have attached 2 pictures taken from the exact same location and position.
At the bottom of Pic 2 you can see the edge of the last row of water canons, the row closest to the Tower. The river Seine flow between the 2 main parts.

The results should show image compression.

Equipment Nikon D700, Tamron 28/200 1:3.8-5.6.

I hope this helps.

If the Drudge Report is your source, I feel really sorry for you.

For your intellectual standing I suggest you eschew citing your references.

I will not address your insults.

I do not know where you get your facts but I suggest two things:
- First your inane diatribe is in the wrong forum,
- Check your facts from some reliable sources.

This is a photography forum not an uninformed political soapbox.

Good day.

Lucius, really like the shot of Notre Dame. Anchorage,AK. trying to figure out what is in the foreground of the last picture.

The picture was taken from the Esplanade of Trocadero which is on the right bank of the Seine.
The guns looking contraptions are water canons used in water shows.
There is a bridge over the river between here and the tower (which is on the left bank). One of the picture should show the details if you look to the bottom (i.e: picture 2).

I really like this one. A very unique perspective with the guns.
We are heading to Paris, Normandy & Brittany, and the Loire Valley for about 10 days next October. Can't wait!

The guns are actually water guns for the water shows on the Esplanade of Trocadero which is across the River Seine from the Tower.
I think you will enjoy your trip.

I like #2 of the Eiffel tower ......there is some serious DOF compression from your tele-lens making it look like one could drive right under the Tower! lol
You pushed the sharpening tool a little far on full resolution there .....but that is OK !

I don't use PP so I don't know what else I did.
Thank you for your comments.

Here is a different view.
