Hi all I'm going to try again with slower shutter speeds at 1/60 and again at 1/30 and see the results, the pics you see were at 1/100. I'll try the anti flicker. guess this will be useless info but interesting! Thanks for the response and I'll repost if I find any earth shattering info bill

hi all, i have a canon 7dm2, today i was just playing with the white balance shift, in camera and noticed something, hoping anyone can elaborate on what i saw. i was in my kitchen and took eleven pics in the cameras high speed capture with no flash. In the eleven shots which took just over one second i noticed a blue led night light going from full brilliance in the first pic to no illumination at all in the last pic. i'm assuming it has to do with the 60 cycles in the ac sign wave. hopefully the three of the 11 pics i added i did correctly so you can see it, (1st 5th and last in the series) if so the blue led light is on the left of pics. is this this the same premus as fluorescent lighting has on flashless photography. or is my house possesed :) wondering what all the new led bulbs commimg out what will this do to flashless photography. thanks for any input info on this. bill

I have two 600 ex rt I use with my 7d m2 sorry I can't give a hands on opinion but for $120 vs $499 + $450 for the canon,I would try to rent one and see for yourself how it works for you. the build what I've been reading the is not as tough as Canon but think about you can almost get four of them for one canon how bad can they be??? I will be getting one soon a another slave.

Hi all first of all thank-you all for the in depth answers, my question was was referring to the graph on the right side of view finder Only!! I do know the bottom is for fc. I realize now that the half press of shutter measures exposure at the settings you have set and if it's still not right you have to repeat the ISO setting ,half press shutter all over again aghhhh.so to avoid that a light meter will be on my next to buy list or use auto ISO thanks again

Hi mesilver I'm definitely looking at the graph in the viewfinder on the right .after setting app and shutter I press the ISO button on top of camera this is when the graph disappears and this is definitely not a miss alignment of my eye in view finder. I need to half press shutter to bring it back I'm thinking I have to contact canon maybe this can be a firmware issue to correct

Hi all I have a canon 7d m2 .since buying this camera I have been shooting in manual my frustration comes when I change the ISO, the exposure graph in the viewfinder disappears. I have to half press the shutter to bring back the graph, its a back and forth game to get exposure right. when adjusting aperture or speed the graph stay's visible. Shouldn't the three parts of the exposure triangle always be visible for correct exposure? Am I just missing a setting somewhere or am I just missing something about the manual thing ? Thanks for any help or clarifying any misunderstanding I have about why the ISO disappears

If you are using the media center program on your PC windows 10 does not support it and never will as I understand it now. because of licences. I hope they can resolve this issue because I would love to upgrade myself!!!

Hey budgie sorry for the delay in responding.I too owned the rebel xti some 12-13 years ago with the 28 - 200mm lens I thought it was a good camera which it was, then 3 1/2 years ago I bought the 7d and the 28-70 2.8 l lens it blew away the rebel. Now I own the mark2 with the 24~35 2.8 l lens and the 100~400.quality and thing's you can do with mark2 doesn't compare to the rebel now to answer your question yes the kit lens will work but here is my opinion and its food for thought to you.I know everyone with canons will hate me also nikoniones :) .if you trade your 7d in you probably will maybe get $400 I got $500 for mine back in November instead look at the sony mirroless a6000 body for $500 and I believe it's the 28~200 mm lens for $800 .that's a lot less than the mark 2 body alone.as I said it's just food for thought. I now own 3~ 2.8 canon l lens with the mark2 and love it but it's HEAVY ! They sell adapter rings to fit your old lens if you want.and get better lens in the future. Please everyone don't come down on me to hard :)

hey basil i had asked this question a few days ago i have the 16/35 2.8 lens. I had to had to make a fairly large micro adj to correct soft focusing issues with that lens .upon reading all the posts from uhh i was going to up grade to new firm. but me being paranoid reading more on the web i found that there has been people saying after upgrading, there camera freezes up, one said they had to take out the battery to get it working.I don't know to what extent this is or if it really has anything to do with the new firmware and if so will there be another version from canon, time will tell. so for me i'm sticking with the original firm till i find out whats up with the lockup issues if there is any that i'm reading about. at that point ill do the upgrade
again to all uhh users thanks

Hi all. I bought the 7d mark 2 back when it was just released ,one of my lens is the canon 16/35 2.8 I wasn't very happy with the focus everything was soft so I did a micro adjustment and to my surprise I had to go to a +14 for wide and +5 for telephoto which made all tack sharp. I have firmware 1.0.2 which is original in camera. I have been reading version 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 corrects this issue with this specific lens. my question is do I upgrade or leave it status quo .since I'm happy with the focus issue. I don't see anything in later upgrade that effects me now. thank-you everyone

Hi all just need an opinion I will be going to Disney for a week with the family and two grandkids. Def Will be taking a load of pics and videos, my daughter booked a bunch of breakfasts with Minny,Cinderella ect.ect.ect.
I own a canon 7d mark 2, I will be buying new cards I'm thinking of The lexar pro1066x cf and the lexar pro sd cards, my question is what size should be good enough for some heavy shooting, im thinkinking 128 gb should be good I'll be shooting jpeg and raw.both on large files.
Also should I keep jpes on one card and raw on the other or keep both format's on one card and do a copy on both cards, any advantages to separate them
thanks all the thoughts bill
