This is probably a silly solution. Why not take the toy outside to a nice green lawn area and see what that produces? I'm thinking your instructions may not allow all that processing in photoshop or elsewhere. Just a thought.

Found on the internet. You may have read this already but if you haven't it does make good sense.

THIS IS BRILLIANT AND OH SO TRUE!!
If you start with a cage containing five monkeys and inside the cage, hang a banana on a string from the top and then you place a set of stairs under the banana, before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana.

As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray all the other monkeys with cold water.
After a while another monkey makes an attempt with same result... All the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, put the cold water away.

Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one.

The new monkey sees the banana and attempts to climb the stairs. To his shock, all of the other monkeys beat the crap out of him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys, replacing it with a new one.
The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment... With enthusiasm, because he is now part of the "team".
Then, replace a third original monkey with a new one, followed by the fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked.

Now, the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs. Neither do they know why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

Finally, having replaced all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys will have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, not one of the monkeys will try to climb the stairway for the banana.

Why, you ask? Because in their minds... That is the way it has always been!

This, my friends, is how Congress operates... And this is why, from time to time:
ALL of the monkeys need to be REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME.

We are thinking of visiting Montana next summer. Been through there once but want to see more of the northwest area. Perhaps we can drop in and visit your store. Sounds like the good old days to me. Don't know if you have considered this but it might not be a bad idea to sock it to the competition by doing internet sales along with retail in the store. Just a thought. Best to you, you brave soul!

So, what's new? This reads much like what took place after WWl. During the roaring 20's and into the 30's our wonderful congress and president cut our military so deep, we didn't have an effective army or navy. We just can't seem to learn from history!

Okay, just thought it sounded familiar. I have done manual focus on scenery and it had the peaking color all over the distant part of the image, so much so that it looked like a lot of noise, so I turned it off and only use peaking once in a while. It was very distracting. I haven't been doing uhh very long myself but it seems like there are not very many folks out there using Sony cameras, mostly Cannon and Nikon. I don't think your problem was with the lens, you might try duplicating the problem using a Sony lens thereby isolating that effect to either the camera or the lens.

Better late than never. I'm a week behind on uhh but I hope this will help explain what you are seeing. I have a Sony NEX-3 and it has a feature called Peaking Level and another called Peaking Color. If you have these features you can go to the menu/setup/peaking level and turn it off. That will eliminate this feature and you will no longer see the color "noise" as you described it. You may want to go to your camera's manual or search the internet for a full explanation of the what and how of this focus peaking feature. Best wishes.

I really have enjoyed UH since first discovery earlier this year. I live in a small community in the Nevada desert and really enjoy seeing the images displayed on this site as most of them are very beautiful. I have been snapping the shutter for many years even had my own dark room at one point. I also collect cameras and enjoy photography history. I plan to take a little trip later this year and hopefully I will find one or two images worth displaying here. In the mean time I plan to continue learning from all of you. Thanks, this is a great experience. I do have a website where I have posted several examples of my work and if you'd like to visit www.sunshineventures.net, by all means feel free to do so.

When I want a really sharp image I use a tripod and the self-timer on this camera but I was wondering if there is an electronic cable release that can be used with the Nex 3. A manual cable release would not be the answer as it would tend to add vibration but a wireless version of same might prove to be of great value.

I am brand new to this site and found your beautiful covered bridge very interesting. I see you have many wonderful replies and thought I'd add my two-bits. I use PSE6 and did a simple "Guided Edit". Using the "lighting and exposure" feature I was able to lighten the shadows and darken the highlights just a little and then applied a touch of midtone contrast. I liked the result but then it's all a matter of taste, isn't it?

Well, there is 50 of them but what happened to Nevada. We got Washington DC, which is a state of confusion but not really a legal state, but no Nevada.
