Hello! I don't see an option to save to desktop; however the photos were saved to a file that when I checked it there were two options available, jpeg and original+settings. As I said I am pretty new at this so figured with the original + setting the photos would go as I had them at the time I sent them. I just changed the setting to jpeg and it appears that the photo has been exported with the changes I had made. Is that where I have gone wrong?? Thanks for your help.

Since Apple no longer supports Aperture, I recently switched to Lightroom CC when I got a new Mac. Even though I do realize there will be a learning curve I am increasingly frustrated. While there are things that I like about the program, things that I think should be pretty straightforward seem harder than they should be. I'm trying to move photos that I have processed in Lightroom to a folder in Finder in order to send them to Facebook, snapfish etc. I have been able to move the photos but they are the unprocessed versions?? What am I doing wrong? I really appreciate all the help from the experienced folks on this site, I always learn something here!

Thanks for your reply, I am using Apple Aperture. Before the rollover to 0001 from 9999 I was able to download all the photos on the card from the camera via USB and select the photos I wanted to export into Aperture. Since the rollover, the photos numbered 0001 and beyond don't even show up so I can select or not select.

Has anyone had trouble downloading from an SD card to a computer once the camera number has gone past 9999 and back to zero. Photos are on the card but don't show when exporting them to the computer. I usually check the box that says don't download duplicates but thought that there might be photos with those numbers so unchecked the box, didn't make any difference?? I have searched the internet to find a solution but haven't run into anything yet.

As others have said, lots and lots of photo ops in Savannah! I love cemeteries so Bonaventure is a must - if you want a tour contact the cemetery's historic society they are wonderful. Must be able to walk it though, they don't allow tour vehicles because of the vibrating idling motors causing damage to the monuments. The Olde Pink House is a wonderful restaurant, the basement bar is fun. Forsyth Park is beautiful - oh, if you're looking for a fun food experience try Miss Wilkes, used to be a boarding house for the railroad workers now only the dining room remains, but is still family style with lots of southern style favorites. Mercer House is a nice house tour ("Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" fame, although no photos allowed) Have Fun!

I took some photos when I was there a couple of years ago. While there one of my group fell, it was pretty crowded. One of the ladies came out from behind the glass to make sure she was OK, held her hand and got her a cold cloth for her face that was slightly bloodied. She couldn't have been nicer. She was a beautiful, intelligent woman. I think photos from a respectful distance are OK and the ladies probably expect it. Just remember that it isn't a zoo and give them some respect.

I agree with all that everyone else has said! A couple of other places could be Shore Acres park that is around the Charleston area (just past Sunset Beach State campground) It was an old Lumber Barons estate right on the coast - the mansion burned down many years ago but the gardeners house and the gardens are still there and gorgeous. There is a trail that leads down to a small cove a very worthwhile stop. The other thing I would recommend is going up to Cape Perpetua just south of Yachats, beautiful views of the coast line from up there. Lots to see, never enough time, have fun!

Grew up in Oakland, are there areas to avoid, absolutely but Oakland is not all bad!! if you go, check out Piedmont Avenue and the Mountain View Cemetery and the Chapel of the Chimes Columbarium the building was designed by famous architect Julia Morgan stunning place for photography. Then you can head down to Fenton's Creamery for some of the best ice cream ever! You'd be very near the Oakland/Berkeley boarder. Find Tunnel Road and you'll find the Claremont Hotel, gorgeous building opened in 1915. Travel up the hill a bit and from there you can get some beautiful shots (if the weather is clear) of the Golden Gate. Never enough time to see and do everything, you may need to plan another trip!!

deYoung Museum in Golden Gate Park has a great observation tower that you don't have to pay museum admission to go up. California Academy of Sicences across the way (you can get great photos of the living roof from the observation tower) has a really great rainforest exhibit. not to mention all the other gorgeousness in GG Park - Have Fun!

I used to use iDVD and it was great until I upgraded to Yosemite. It seems they don't get along! I tried Voilabits Slideshowmaker. It seemed promising but for someone like me who is not a computer whiz there were just too many little bugs like, trying to add text, getting the songs in the soundtrack to stay where you put them. Some photos don't transfer over etc. I had to contact support several times, they finally got back to me but it's been more than a week and they have no answers so think twice before using this one. I appreciate your question though since I will be looking for a new program too!

I recently to my dismay upgraded my mac to the Yosemite operating system. I always hesitate to upgrade because inevitably something goes haywire and I'm not "techie" enough to figure it out. This latest upgrade has ruined my iDVD program. I am a travel agent and usually accompany my groups on tours. I have become the unofficial photographer and put together slide show dvds of the trip for all my clients. After the upgrade everything works the same but when you view the photos the colors are completely distorted. I understand that Apple no longer supports the iDVD program but why do they have to make it unusable when they upgrade?(sorry, had to whine a little!). I have called Apple and the tech was nice but could really offer no help. Anyway, I thought that there are probably many of you Hoggers out there that still burn DVDs for clients and know of another program that is as easy to work with as iDVD had been. Thanks!

I had an Epson several years ago, no longer available it was the best, since Epson had done such a great job I replaced it with an Artisan 810, if all you are looking for it to do it is great, the software program is easy to use, however if you want it to print also it is terrible, I think the paper tray design is bad, it grabs several pieces of paper at a time, difficult to seat properly when inserting tray into the printer, makes an ungodly grinding noise - the company has replaced it THREE times and have the same problem. They may have other models that are better but not this one. I now have a Canon MG5420 and the quality of the print is good but the software is not as easy as Epson.
