Haven't been there since the 70s but loved it. Hate to see it down so far.

I would recommend you check the Fuji X series. Unparalled lens quality. I own the XT-1 and could not be happier.

Also just bought the 100-400 lens and the 1.4 teleconverter and am very happy with both. In 2 lenses and a converter I now have focal lengths from 18mm to 560. All very clear and easy to carry.

I am 71 and made the switch before going to Alaska last year. I had a Nikon D7100, 70-200 f2.8 lens, Tamron 15-600, and several other high quality lenses. The camera bag and all of the equipt. I had waas very bulky and heavy. A friend had a Fuji XT-1 and 2 lenses and his pictures were clear and very good. I decided on the Fuji XT-1 with the 18-135 lense. I was very happy with the results of all the photos and the lack of a large camera bag. Would not go back.

I spent 2 weeks in Alaska last summer and took 90% of the pictures that I took with my Fuji XT-1 an my Fuji 18-135 lens. Both the camera and lense were WR (weather resistant) and I was very happy with the outcome.

I am an X-T1 user and love the camera. I traveled through you beautiful state in September of this year with the camera and the 18-135 lens and my pictures are beautiful. Captured the beautiful colors as they changed, the magnificence of the landscape, Denali, Kenai peninsula, and the mountains in their glory. I highly recommend this camera and the lens that I chose.

The I'd of the picture revels the shutter count until it reaches 9999 then it starts over. For instance 2354.jpeg, 0r raf indicates the shutter has been activated 2354 times.

I have the same camera but chose the 18-135 as my kit lens. Then I bought the 14mm prime. Just completed a 7700 mile driving trip through Montana, Wyoming, Canada, Washington, Oregon, and California. In addition we went to Alaska traveled by train, coach, and back to the states in a 7 day cruise. Carried these lenses and the camera and got some great photographs. Loved the camera and lenses.
