There is a book written by some of the guys who worked on NIK (or so they claim) that covers the whole suite.
NIK Software Captured
Barnes and Noble has a copy available from one of their associated sellers for 9.95 right now, other wise it is about 3X that price on Amazon.

Thank you robertjerl, I just jumped on that purchase as I doubt it will be cheaper in the future. With all the new interest in NIK everyone is searching for manuals and tutorials so I was surprised to find a markdown anywhere.

Bill and Linda, thank you for your research and posting the download links. at my age, 72, I pray I have enough brain cells to learn all this. It will be fun to see. I am just now getting my feet wet with Elements 13, hopefully, these will help with the new workflow I have to learn.

Have to keep an eye on this and see what other goodies are found. I just now learned of NIK and have elements 13 but haven't tried it yet.

I was there last year and had fun photographing the steam train(with freight cars attached). Had a nice lunch as well!

I hope at least someone will make it there and post some images!!

Jay Pat, an Attorney friend of mine is a local photographer here in Palestine and I was able to get a couple of links to his albums on the Texas Railroad for any of those interested.

Barbara Walters, of 20/20, did a story on gender roles in Kabul, Afghanistan, several years before the Afghan conflict.

She noted that women customarily walked five paces behind their husbands.
She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind their husbands.
Despite the overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime, the women now seem happy to maintain the old custom.

Ms. Walters approached one of the Afghani women and asked,
'Why do you now seem happy with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?'
The woman looked Ms. Walters straight in the eyes, and without hesitation said,” Land mines."

Are you sure it is a 16 GB card? Lots of counterfeits out there these days....

Also, how did you format it? Normally you should format SD cards on the device that is to use them, or use the proper SD formatting software available as a download.

Thanks for your quick response

It is a 16 GB I purchased from San Disk, have used it for about 5 years. I just did another reformat in the camera and now it reads correctly. I have no idea why the problem just occurred but at least I have a working card again

I have a 16 GB micro SD card that I just formatted but the properties states the size 113 MB. Something has happened to mess up the partitioning or something. Can someone please come to my rescue?

Tony, I am going to try a shutter release and a tripod with my SX50 HS before I give up on it and send it back to Canon, USA for evaluation. It could be that my tremors have progressed to the point where that is my only way to find out. I used the camera tonight after church at a youth fellowship chili cook-off and silent cake auction. I shot about 20 shots with this camera and 60-70 shots with a Pentax K50. I will download all the shots and compare the success rate between them. I know all the Pentax are in focus but I think before starting I lost at least 25% on the Canon, maybe more. After seeing all your great shots I do so want to be able to keep this little camera in my bag. Your images are proof that this is a powerful tool to have available, I may just not be able to shoot handheld with it. Thank you for your time and the lings to your articles, they are a great resource.

Tony I have a question you might be able to answer. About three months ago I bought a refurbished SX59 HS from Canon to use for it's long reach since I don't have a long lens for either of my dslr's. My discomfort with the SX50 is a very sensitive shutter when I try to 1/2 press and wait for the camera to focus. Is this common to this camera or might I have gotten a bad refurbished model?

I started with computers back in 1968, in Irvine, CA, working for a company called Varian Data Machines. Programming on punch cards, memory was hand wired with ferite beads, main frames the size of double door freezers. We have come a long way in almost 50 years. I don't even try to keep up with more than the basics now, way past my learning curve at this point.
I hope and pray you have solved your problem at this point.

It pains me to see how much Ill temper and cross words have come to the forefront on this forum over the past 5 years. Something else we must learn to tolerate during our latter years. Have a great weekend.

Apparently you did not read the entire thread. Using my unclear instructions the OP managed to get what I asked him for. On a MAC you DO NOT hit print screen, there is no such thing as MyPC. So climb down of your high horse, and pay attention.
I was referring to about three or four reply's you made where you stated you had provided step by step instructions, which you did not. I also made it clear in my post that I have zero knowledge about Mac's but I gave a general idea of how it would be done on a PC. You just have a desire to be rude to people who have not requested that from you. I am not the only person to point out this character flaw to you sir.

But can you not read the instructions how to get one and look at the example I provided.
I have followed this from opening post and I think you have totally confused this poor man because he is IT deficient, as am I when we are talking Mac's.The only clear instructions were basically how to open a screen where he could scale an area where the screen shot should go. You have not provided him or any of us other IT deficient emmbers the steps to go to My PC, Highlight the drive in question, Right click that drive, select properties, hit tthe print screen button, open a program whereby he can paste and save the copied image, then come back to this post and insert the saved image into the comment block. So I do feel you are being a little to curt to a novice. Just my take on your tone in your responses.
