I am potentially interested, but a new gaming computer bought this summer fails the test. Store told me yesterday they had sold out of that model and no one else had even asked the question. May or may not he fixable with a change in BIOS settings.
As I have read, 11 is strictly 64 bit, so if you have 32 bit software or a 32 bit version installed, it won't work. If this is not correct, please correct me. If true that would be my real worry, as while I always choose 64 bit, I don't know what I might have that isn't. Certainly on this site people often mention old stuff they like and use.

Problem with not upgrading is at present Microsoft plans to stop supporting 10, no security updates, in just few yrs as store confirmed.

This update stuff is getting ridiculous, last night I looked into getting Paramount+. Found it only works on smart TVs and for many brands only those made in maybe last 5 yrs. I have no intention of relacing every tv, monitor, computer, phone etc. every 5 yrs or even sooner because firms decide it's a great way to make money.

Win 11 is Intel hardware agnostic. It works on 32 or 64 bits platforms. The applications in 32 bits format will be faster but not as much since there is a mapping/conversion taking place at execution time.

Microsoft has had a lot of issues with new versions of the operating system in the pass. Remember what happened with W8. So, because I do not use intensively the operating system, W10 is ok for me and I will wait until everything is tested to start thinking in an update.

I am using right now an HP laptop that I bought in 2012 with Win 8. I upgraded to all the newer versions thru the years and have used Win 11 since the pre-release. I now have the final / official release and it runs without a glitch with all my softwares i.e: Adobe, Affinity, Nikon suite/studio latest, Gimp without a problem. Some applications updated to the latest version automatically the first time I launched them. And the performance is at least 45% better without any harware upgrade.

The hardware is 9 busy years old.

Mac, I am an old guy but I have used 3 lenses as walk around. I use a 50mm f1.2 on my Nikon F3hp. I use a 24mm f2.8 on my Nikon F6 and a 85mm F1.8 on my Nikon D700. I have taken a lot of photos that I like very much on Kodak Tri-X or Ilford XP2. I am too old to change( I bought these cameras when Nikon released them) and they have traveled with me all over.
Hopefully that answered your question from one point of view.

Good shooting.

That's not true and you know it. For the people that were there in the beginning, we know what we saw and what you did. You deleted most of the discussion that showed a good argument that was not in favor of your interpretation of "street". Of course all the evidence is conveniently gone by you deleting it. You did leave a few incidentals to mask your claim that you didn't do it. You deleted a lot more than "bullying, name calling, and gratuitous insults.

Hopefully, some of the others that were there will chime in with more details than I can recall.

Thank you for your long diatribe. You lack a little logic in your conclusions, that is all.
Let us not waste anymore time on this.
Thank you.
Enjoy your life.

I am so sad that this photography site degenerate into a political forum. I am also so happy that, living in Connecticut, you have no problem with someone k*****g small children in their school.
Enjoy your life and your warped logic.

Thanks folks, you have given me a lot to think about, my flash guns are quite recent so low voltage. I will investigate "tethering". Mini USB socket is available

also live veiw so I have lots of options available to me. I will dig out my tripod and find some subject material

You can download Digicam control for Nikon. Look it up on the internet. It works on Windows and Mac and is free to use. It does everything you are looking for. I use it quite a lot with a laptop and it works great.

Good shooting.

Does the Pentagon know about your invention? By the sound of it this would be a far more cost effective way of killing people with brown skin than drone strikes.
Let's hope Hillary doesn't get her hands on it.

You sound way to sick to attempt any kind of humor, political or otherwise.
You may want to stick to photography if you know anything about it.

I generally don't like to see silky water pics using an ND filter. I prefer natural nature with spray and ripples and chaos in the flow. Perhaps most stream environments are too dark and freezing spray with a high shutter speed is not an option could explain why the ND option is so popular. If the distances aren't too great, a flash would certainly help.

This is the way I prefer my water. I just wish I could take better pictures.

These are from a bus tour inside Denali National Park. Unless you walk, the bus is the only way to go very far into the park. This first set is of a small mountain and clouds.

Comments welcomed and appreciated.

Great set of a beautiful area of the world.

These were taken in an area of Denali during the big fire last June.

Yes, actually I do miss it a lot.
There is nothing wrong with Alaska except that it takes most people an hour and a half to watch 60 minutes.

But enough nonsense. I do not miss the LIE.

Don't ask me why.
